From the Founder’s Diary
Mr. Ravi Prakash Jhajara, the founder of Advanced Sports Technology Trust, believes in providing complete support to budding sportsmen of India. Being a cricketer himself, he realises and recognises the need for an impetus as far as sports is concerned, as it is very likely for young talented sportsmen to give up their hopes too early in their lives. They need the right kind of push to discover their potential and grow it further. Recognising the need for a financially stable life, Indian households discourage a career in sports as it requires matured talent to gain national significance and without that, often the investment in such careers prove to be surprisingly futile. Hence, the NGO was established to help players grow irrespective of the fact that they later find success or failure in their chosen career paths. Infact, Jhajara and the core members believe that the right to choose career paths and experiment with abilities should be granted to every individual.
Abhishek Sharma, our person of contact and the General Secretary of the NGO too played for Rajasthan in 2017. Due to a fatal road accident, he lost his ability to play cricket for the rest of his life. His coach and the founder of Advanced Sports Technology Trust, believed in him and asked him to join the organisation as the General Secretary. The fact that he could not achieve his dreams makes him work for his peers and contemporary sportsmen who aspire to build their career as cricketers.
